The reason why fasting is considered a beautiful deed is because there is no showing off in fasting. A person can hide & eat all he/she wants or swallow all the water he/she wants in wudhu without anyone looking, but he/she doesn’t purely for the sake of Allah. That is why fasting is such a beautiful deed
